Overview

The scholarship package includes $5,000 toward tuition fees in the first and second years of study, a $5,000 stipend in the third year of study, and full housing costs* for the first year in a Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington hall of residence.  In the first and second years, a $15,000 fee contribution can be made on behalf of non-hall-dwelling students, and in the third year, they can receive a $5,000 stipend.

Eligibility for Kahotea Outstanding Achievement Scholarship at Victoria University of Wellington:

  • This scholarship is open to all nationals.
  • To be eligible, applicants must fulfill all requirements of the Kahurangi Māori Student Scholarship, the Mana Pasifika Scholarship, the Pakohe Sustainability Scholarship, the Raukaraka Leadership Scholarship, the Tangiwai Excellence Scholarship, the Totoweka Equity Scholarship, the Mātātoa Sports Scholarship, or the Pakohe Sustainability Scholarship.
  • Candidates must plan to enroll full-time in Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington in the year after submitting their application for their first undergraduate degree.
  • At the time of application, candidates must be in Year 13 or have finished Year 13 the year before and be taking a gap year.
