Vera R. Campbell Promise Scholarship at IFR 2024

The Vera R. Campbell Promise Scholarship is committed to assisting undergraduate students at California State University Los Angeles (CSULA). This university draws in students from nearby communities, including a large number from economically disadvantaged areas and many who are the first in their families to pursue higher education. This scholarship offers substantial financial assistance to chosen CSULA students, enabling them to engage in International Field Schools globally and in various fields of study.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Applicants can be of any nationality.
• Applicants must be an undergraduate attending any of the higher education institutions in Los Angeles County, CA.
• Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.7.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years old by the first day of the field school program.
• Applicants must demonstrate financial need.
• Applicants must be accepted into an IFR field school.

Application Process:

• Interested candidates must complete the Vera Campbell Promise Scholarship application.
• Candidates must submit the following documents:
  • Contact information for a recommender,
  • Unofficial transcript showing a GPA of 2.7 or higher,
  • A copy of the 2023-24 or 2024-25 FAFSA Student Aid Report or Documentation demonstrating financial need,
  • Complete answers to essay questions.

Value of the Scholarship:

• Selected candidates are awarded the following benefits:
  • A sum of USD 5,000 towards the cost of an IFR field school, including travel expenses.

Note: To receive and retain the scholarship funds, you must participate and complete the field school as well as the additional scholarship requirements pre- and post-program as outlined in the agreement.
