UTS Humanitarian Scholarship

The UTS Humanitarian Scholarship supports eligible asylum seekers and humanitarian entrants undertaking undergraduate or postgraduate coursework studies at the University of Technology Sydney.

Eligibility criteria for the UTS Humanitarian Scholarship:

  • Applicants must hold an eligible temporary asylum seeker or refugee visa/status, including a Temporary Protection Visa (subclass 785), Safe Haven Enterprise Visa (subclass 790), Temporary Visa (subclass 449), or eligible Bridging Visa A–E with the required protection application/evidence.
  • Applicants must demonstrate financial hardship and inability to pay their tuition fees without the scholarship.
  • Applicants must have applied and been deemed eligible for admission to a UTS undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree commencing in the next available intake.
  • Applicants must intend to enrol full-time at UTS.
  • Applicants must complete the UTS online scholarship application.
  • Applicants must be available to attend an interview if required.
  • Selection considers academic merit, motivation to succeed, and financial circumstances.
  • Preference is given to undergraduate applicants who have not previously commenced or completed an undergraduate degree in Australia.

Application Process for the UTS Humanitarian Scholarship:

  • After applying for admission, applicants must submit the UTS Humanitarian Scholarship application form.
  • Applicants must first apply for admission to a UTS course commencing in 2027.
