For students from Africa, Central and South Asia, the Caribbean Islands, the Pacific Islands, and Central and Latin America, who have been accepted to the two-year, part-time online ChM (Master of Surgery) program in Clinical Ophthalmology, there are nine online learning scholarships available in the field of ophthalmology in the academic session 2024–2025.
Eligibility for University of Edinburgh-The David E I Pyott Master Of Surgery In Clinical Ophthalmology Scholarship:
- The scholarships will be given to candidates who are admitted to the University of Edinburgh's online Master of Surgery (ChM) program in Clinical Ophthalmology, which is part of the Edinburgh Surgery Online master's degree suite.
- A place at the University of Edinburgh should already have been offered to applicants, and they should either be planning to accept the offer or have already done so firmly.
- Senior trainees, residents, or registrars in the field of ophthalmology are encouraged to apply. Early career ophthalmologists may also apply and have their applications taken under consideration.
Selection Criteria:
- The selection process is based on academic merit and a personal statement in which you outline how you currently contribute to the national and local plans for the development of ophthalmology in your country and how you plan to use the scholarship to further advance this goal.
- After completing their studies, successful applicants will be dedicated to working in the ophthalmology service of their home country; using their newly acquired skills to further improve and develop the service; and fostering clinical and academic links between The University of Edinburgh and their home country's medical universities, ophthalmology teaching hospitals and research institutes.
