University of Auckland Māori Academic Excellence Scholarship 2026

Eligibility Criteria for University of Auckland Māori Academic Excellence Scholarship:

• Applicants must be New Zealand Māori
• Applicants must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent residents
• Applicants must be enrolled in the final year of study at a New Zealand secondary school or kura.
• Applicants must intend to enroll full-time in an undergraduate degree or a Certificate of Health Sciences followed by an undergraduate degree at the University of Auckland in the following year.
• Applications can also be considered for:
  • Students who have studied until at least the end of Year 11 at a New Zealand secondary school or kura and are currently studying overseas in an NCEA, IB, or CIE program.
  • Students who have completed an NCEA, IB, or CIE program within the year of application.

Value of University of Auckland Māori Academic Excellence Scholarship:

Up to $27,000 in total, comprising one year of catered accommodation in a Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland Hall of Residence in the first year plus $5,000 paid in installments.
