Overview

Four innovation campuses in Limburg, the Netherlands, form the Brightlands. The Brightlands campus brings together entrepreneurs, researchers, and students to innovate and create international breakthroughs together in chemistry and materials, health, agrifood, data science, and smart digital services.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Applicants must be non-EU/EEA/Switzerland.
  • Applicants must meet the requirements for an MVV visa and residence permit for the Netherlands.
  • If holding a Schengen country residence permit, it must be valid until at least 2 September 2026. Otherwise, apply via the MVV visa from your home country.
  • Applicants must not be older than 35 on 1 September 2027.
  • Applicants must apply for admission to a participating master's program at UM for the 2026-2027 academic year.
  • Applicants must meet specific admission requirements for the chosen UM master's program.
  • Only one application is allowed; ensure all documents meet requirements before submission.

Value:

All successful applicants of UM Brightlands Talent International Scholarships will receive the following from Maastricht University:

  • Housing: €600
  • Groceries and personal hygiene: €160
  • Telephone: € 60
  • Travel: € 100
  • Books and study materials: €90
  • Clothing, hobbies, and going out: €125
