UCL Accommodation Bursary at the University College London

Students from low-income backgrounds and those with an Access UCL offer who have secured a place in UCL Accommodation will be eligible for an Accommodation Bursary for the 2025/26 entry.

Eligibility Criteria of UCL Accommodation Bursary:

1. The applicants must have accepted UCL as their firm or insurance choice university.
2. The applicants must have applied for, been offered, and accepted a place in UCL Accommodation.

Selection Criteria: 

1. All students who receive the UCL Undergraduate Bursary or hold an Access UCL offer and meet the eligibility criteria will automatically receive the Accommodation Bursary for their first year only, credited directly to their accommodation account.
2. The bursary cannot be paid into a student’s bank account, and if a student checks into halls in later terms (e.g., Term 2 or 3), the bursary amount will be adjusted accordingly.

Application Process: 

1. No separate application form is required; students who meet the eligibility criteria and complete the necessary steps will be automatically assessed for the bursary.
2. Applicants holding an insurance offer that later becomes firm will still be eligible for the bursary if they can secure UCL accommodation after the stated deadline.

Award: The bursary will be applied as a deduction from the Term 1 accommodation invoice in the first year (2025/26) at the following rates: GBP 556 for Access UCL offer holders, GBP 1,112 for UCL Undergraduate Bursary recipients, and GBP 1,668 for students holding both.
