Overview
TWAS and the Department of Biotechnology (DBT) offer postgraduate scholarships to nationals of developing countries other than India. The TWAS-DBT Postgraduate Fellowship fields include Agricultural Sciences, Structural, Cell, and Molecular Biology, Biological Systems and Organisms, Medical and Health Sciences incl. Neurosciences, and Chemical Sciences.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be nationals of developing countries other than India.
- Applicants should not be older than 35 years of age.
- Applicants must not hold any visa for temporary or permanent residency in India or any developed country.
- Applicants must hold a Master's or equivalent degree in science or engineering.
- Applicants must be registered at a university in India for full-time fellowships.
- Applicants must be accepted at a biotechnology institution in India.
- Applicants must provide evidence that they will return to their home country on completion of the fellowship.
- Applicants must not take up other assignments during the period of their fellowship.
Application Process:
- Interested candidates must apply online for the fellowship.
- The candidates must submit the following documents:
- The Acceptance Letter from an Indian biotechnology institution.
- Reference letters must be on letterhead and signed by the referee.
Value of the Fellowship:
- The successful applicants will receive the following benefits:
- A monthly stipend of Rs. 37,000 (Years 1 and 2),
- A monthly stipend of Rs. 42,000 (Year 3)
- House rent allowance,
- Health insurance of Rs. 600 per month.
- A contingency amount of Rs. 50,000 per annum.
