Overview

The Zucker family and Holding Redlich's partners made a generous donation that allowed the Tom Zucker Scholarship to be founded in the 1990s. When Tom Zucker passed away in 1990, he was a partner at Holding Redlich and an expert in labor and employment law. The scholarship program aims to further the Australian labor movement's goals.

Eligibility for the Tom Zucker Scholarship in Employment Law and Labour Relations Law:

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • be an enrolled student in either the Graduate Diploma or Masters of Employment and Labour Relations Law at Melbourne Law School
  • submit an application with Melbourne Law School
  • submit the Student Financial Assessment Form

Selection Criteria:

  • Academic merit
  • Financial need
  • Preference will be given to applicants who are employed by, or who are officials of, an Australian trade union or peak union organisation.

Application Process:

Students must submit an application form to the university to be eligible for the scholarship.

Value of the Scholarship: 

A one-off payment of up to $8,000.
