Overview

One 3rd or 4th year Abertay LLB (Hons) Law student will receive the Thorntons Law Scholarship. The award will help students who have overcome challenging hurdles to attend college, come from low-income families, or have parental responsibilities. However, the scholarship will go to the student who can show in their application how it will help them and who hopes to practice law after graduation.

Eligibility for Thorntons Law Scholarship at the Abertay University:

  • The applicant must be commencing year 3 or 4 of the LLB (Hons) Law degree in September 2023.
  • The applicant must demonstrate financial need.
  • The applicant must display a keen interest in following a career in Law.
  • The applicant is required to meet with a representative from Thorntons and write a letter of thanks for the scholarship if successful.
  • The applicant must take part in publicity materials for the scholarship if successful. 

Application Process:

The candidate has to fill out an online application form and submit the following documents:

  • Your Student Funding Letter of Award
  • SAAS Award Letter (available in your online SAAS account)
  • Student Finance Award Letter (available in your online account)
  • Other Sponsor Letter

Value of the Scholarship:

The successful candidates can avail of the following benefits:
