Eligibility Criteria for The Valerie Carr Award - Therapeutic Radiography Bursary at the University of Hertfordshire 2026:

  • Applicants can be of any nationality.
  • Applicants should meet one of the following four 'life experience' criteria: 
    • For whom the course will be a second degree; OR
    • Is working as a support worker in radiotherapy/cancer services; OR
    • Has worked in social care and has volunteered or raised funds for a cancer charity/healthcare provider; OR
    • Was in social care at any point during childhood and has volunteered or raised funds for a cancer charity/healthcare provider.
  • Applicants must have a right to work in the UK and be residents of England.
  • Applicants must not be following an apprenticeship route.
  • Applicants must not receive a student loan or other sponsorship to cover the course fees for the program in which they are enrolled.
  • Applicants must demonstrate that their circumstances prevent them from being able, without support, to join the course.
  • Applicants must be aged 18 or over at the intended start date of the program.
