Introduction 

The Niall J. Ware Memorial Prize was established through a fund raised by the family, colleagues, and friends of the late Niall J. Ware, who served as Professor of Spanish at University College Cork (UCC) from 1964 to 1978.

Eligibility requirements for the Niall J. Ware Memorial Prize at the University College Cork:

  • The applicants must be current students of University College Cork.
  • The prize is awarded to the student who obtains first place in Spanish at the BA (Hons) degree examination. 
  • The student should achieve first-class honors in Spanish and should have passed the examination as a whole in the first attempt.
  • The student should not be a native speaker of Spanish.

Application Process:

Value of the Scholarship:

  • A EUR 200 is awarded to support a full-time student.
