Overview:
Netflix Animation Studios Scholarship supports talented postgraduate students from underrepresented groups or experiencing financial hardship in animation, VFX, and visualisation. Provides a flexible stipend to help with living or tuition costs. Netflix Animation Studios is one of the world’s leading 3D animation studios.
Eligibility for The Netflix Animation Studios Scholarship UTS:
- Citizenship/visa: Australian or New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent resident or permanent humanitarian visa.
- Course: Enrolled in, or intending to enrol in, the Master of Animation and Visualisation.
- Apply under ONE category only:
- Diversity: High aptitude and enthusiasm from an under-represented background (e.g., ethnic diversity, gender or sexual orientation, neuro-diversity, First Nations heritage).
- Financial Hardship: High aptitude and enthusiasm from an applicant who may not otherwise complete the course due to financial hardship.
- Application: Submit the UTS Online Scholarships Application Form.
- UAC Equity requirement: Complete the UAC Equity Scholarship application demonstrating financial disadvantage and/or educational barriers (e.g., regional/remote background, sole parent or carer responsibilities, long-term medical condition/disability, effects of abuse, Indigenous Australian status, refugee status).
- Interview: All candidates must be available for an interview (online or in person).
Selection process:
- Applicants will be required to submit a statement of up to 1,000 words demonstrating each of the following in their nominated category:
- Motivation to succeed in the field of animation, visual effects, and/or visualisation
- Initiative and achievements in personal and professional life
- Evidence of how the scholarship would assist them perform and/ or achieve in their course at a higher level than would otherwise be the case
- Demonstrate how their personal circumstances align with the goals of the scholarship to increase representation of underrepresented groups in the animation, visual effects, and visualisation industries.
- Selection will consider financial hardship and/or other barriers as demonstrated via the UAC Equity Scholarship or as confirmed by the UTS Financial Assistance Service.
