The Lord Robert May Scholarship at Imperial College London
The Lord Robert May Scholarship at Imperial College London is a postgraduate award for Master's students in epidemiology and computational ecology. It is funded by a gift made in June 2025 by Lady May to honor Lord May's contributions to science and his long relationship with Imperial.
Eligibility Criteria of The Lord Robert May Scholarship:
- The applicant must be an overseas student with an offer for one of the eligible MSc programmes beginning in Autumn 2026 and will be ranked on academic merit, achievements, motivation for pursuing the degree, and financial need.
- The applicant must submit two written statements: one detailing academic achievements and motivation for the chosen Master’s programme, and another explaining financial need and how the scholarship would support their studies.
Application Process:
- The applicant must apply early for an eligible Master’s course at Imperial College London and secure an offer by 11:59 pm (UK time), Thursday 30 April 2026. Some departments have fixed application rounds, so submitting the course application by February 2026 may be necessary to receive an offer in time. Applicants may also need to pay an application fee unless eligible for a waiver.
- The applicant must complete the scholarship application form, demonstrating academic merit, achievements, motivation for pursuing their chosen Master’s, and evidence of financial disadvantage, which will be assessed through the information provided.

Note:
- The successful applicant may be expected to meet informally with the donors, participate in scholarship-related events, or submit a short progress statement to be shared with the donors.
