The Graham Kelly Engineering and Computer Science Scholarships for Pasifika Students at Victoria University of Wellington
The Graham Kelly Scholarships for Pasifika Students support school-leavers or first-time tertiary Pasifika students from Porirua and surrounding areas enrolling in undergraduate courses in Engineering and Computer Science at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. Established through a charitable gift from e-Learning Porirua and the University, the scholarships aim to improve Pasifika participation in line with the University’s strategic plan and honour Graham Kelly’s contributions to technology education in the community.
Eligibility Criteria of The Graham Kelly Engineering and Computer Science Scholarships for Pasifika Students:
- Applicants must be of Pasifika ethnicity from Porirua City or surrounding areas (Linden, Tawa, Paekākāriki, Paraparaumu) and intending to enrol full-time in an undergraduate Engineering or Computer Science programme at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.
- Applicants must meet all entry requirements for the chosen undergraduate course.
Selection Criteria: Preference will be given to applicants who are actively involved in extra-curricular or voluntary activities in their school, church, or wider community.
Application Process: A completed online application must be submitted on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Award: NZD 15,000.
Note:
- The scholarship provides NZD 5,000 per year for three consecutive years, paid in two instalments per year, with eligibility dependent on maintaining satisfactory academic progress.
- Funds may roll over to the next academic year if there are insufficient suitable applicants, and future expansion to Honours, Master's, or PhD levels may occur as the endowment grows.
- Recipients must write a thank-you letter to the donor within one month of receiving the scholarship.
