The Eastern Bay Education Scholarship (MK Lamont) at Victoria University of Wellington
Established in 2025 by alumnus Michael Lamont with the Eastern Bay Community Foundation, the Eastern Bay Education Scholarship supports students from the Eastern Bay of Plenty region who show determination and perseverance but face financial barriers, helping them begin or continue their undergraduate studies.
Eligibility Criteria of The Eastern Bay Education Scholarship (MK Lamont)
- Applicants must be from the Eastern Bay of Plenty and be New Zealand Citizens, Permanent Residents, or Residence Class visa holders.
- They must be intending to enrol in or currently undertaking full-time undergraduate studies in any faculty at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington.
Selection Criteria: Applicants will be assessed based on financial hardship and the strength of their personal statement.
Application Process: A completed online application must be submitted on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Award: NZD 5,000.
Note:
- The scholarship will be paid as a stipend in two instalments once the recipient is fully enrolled, with continuation to the second instalment confirmed by the Scholarships Office based on ongoing enrolment and engagement.
