Introduction:

The Dr. Raymond Shanahan Memorial Prize is a biennial award established to honor the memory of Dr. Raymond Shanahan. It recognizes outstanding original research or clinical observations related to cardiovascular disease

Eligibility criteria for the Dr. Raymond Shanahan Memorial Prize at University College Cork:

  • The applicants must be a graduate of UCC Medical School or a graduate of another medical school currently training in teaching hospitals.
  • The applicants must be a post-registration non-consultant hospital doctor or equivalent in a GP Trainee Scheme.
  • The submitted work must be based on original observations or research related to cardiovascular disease 

Application Process:

  • Applicants must submit a copy of the research work and a supporting letter from the Head of Department confirming primary authorship and should email it to mga@ucc.ie.

Value of the Scholarship:

  • A EUR 600 is awarded to support a full-time student.
