Introduction:

The Dr. B. Foley Medal in Microbiology was established in honor of Dr. Bridget V. Foley, the first Consultant Bacteriologist in Munster and a pioneering educator in Medical Microbiology at University College Cork.

Eligibility criteria for the Dr. B. Foley Medal in Microbiology at University College Cork:

The applicants must be a current UCC student.
The applicants must be enrolled in the Graduate Entry to Medicine or Direct Entry to Medicine program.
The medal is awarded to the student best in Medical Microbiology, based on Aggregate marks in Graduate or Direct Entry to Medicine Years 1 & 2, or Years 2 & 3 respectively.

Application Process:

No separate application is required. The medal is awarded annually based on academic performance in medical microbiology.

Value of the Scholarship:

The student is awarded a Gold Medal.
