The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Scholarship was established in 2014 to support Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander students to graduation and encourage them into careers such as Fire and Emergency Services.
Eligibility for The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Scholarship 2020:
To be eligible for this scholarship you must:
- be Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander;
- be enrolled in an ECU unit/course related to Emergency Management and/or contributes to Aboriginal community resilience;
- have an academic progression status of good standing;
- be studying a minimum of 30 credit points;
- must be able to demonstrate Academic Performance.
Value of The Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Scholarship 2020:
- The scholarship offers a one-off payment of AUD 5,000.
Applicants will be required to provide a personal statement of no more than 500 words that demonstrates how the unit/course is related to Emergency Management and/or contributes to Aboriginal community resilience.
