The Barbara Bennett Ure Scholarship at University of St Andrews 2026

Barbara Bennett Ure made a kind donation to support this award, which is a component of the St Andrews Access award program. The purpose of the grant is to give academically talented students who might otherwise find it difficult to afford their studies at the University of St Andrews some financial support.

Eligibility Criteria for the Barbara Bennett Ure Scholarship at the University of St Andrews:

• Be domiciled in Scotland.
• Be educated at a state-funded secondary school in Scotland for the duration of secondary education.
• Be a prospective undergraduate student at the University of St Andrews.
• Provide evidence of household income (or alternative documents if care experienced or asylum seeker).
• Meet financial need and donor-specific criteria.

Application Process:

• Apply through the St Andrews Access Award in the Scholarships and Funding section of My Application.
• Provide evidence of household income (or alternative documents if care experienced or asylum seeker).
• Apply after submitting a course application for the 2026–2027 academic year.

Value of the Scholarship:

• £4,400 per year paid as maintenance, which can also be used for University accommodation.
• Paid in ten monthly instalments from September to May, with a double payment in February.
• Awarded annually for the duration of the undergraduate program.
