Overview

Eligibility for The Army Reserve Minuteman Scholarship 2025:

  • Applicants must be US citizens.
  • Applicants must currently be in the Army Reserve or eligible to enlist.
  • Applicants must be between the ages of 17-28;
    • they cannot turn 31 by 31 December of the year of commissioning
  • Applicants must be able to complete a valid Chapter 2 MEPS physical for enlistment.
  • Applicants must comply with AR 600-9 body composition standards.
  • Applicants require: 2.5 GPA, 4-year applicants must have an ACT/SAT.
  • Applicants must be able to participate in the Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP).
  • Once commissioned, applicants must complete an 8-year service obligation while actively drilling at a Unit.
  • Applicants must be able to pass the Army Combat Fitness Test (required to sign a contract and receive scholarship benefits).

Application Process:

  • The candidates must meet all scholarship qualifications.
  • They must fill out the online application form.
  • They must be prepared to be interviewed by an Army Reserve Ambassador or USAR Major
    • Subordinate Command Commander for a nomination

Value of the Scholarship:

  • Covers full tuition and fees OR room and board ($12,000 per year).
  • Monthly $420 Cadet stipend (freshmen-senior year).
  • Annual $1,200 book stipend.
  • Earn E-5 drill pay upon contracting.
  • Guaranteed commission in the Army Reserve with an eight-year service obligation.
