The Syilx Okanagan Students Bursaries provide financial support to eligible members of a Syilx Okanagan Band pursuing full-time studies at Okanagan College. For current and returning students, selection considers financial need and academic achievement, with emphasis on academic achievement.

Eligibility Criteria for the Syilx Okanagan Students Bursaries at Okanagan College 2026:

  • Applicant must be a member of a Syilx Okanagan Band.
  • Applicant must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Applicant must be enrolled full-time in an eligible University Studies, degree, diploma, or certificate programme at any Okanagan College campus, including Adult Basic Education.
  • Applicant must meet the applicable full-time course load requirement of 9 credits (60%) or 6 credits (40%) for students with a permanent disability. Students registered in AACP must take at least 3 courses or 15 hours of instruction per week.
  • For current or returning students, applicant must demonstrate financial need and academic achievement, with emphasis on academic achievement.
  • For new students, applicant must demonstrate financial need.

  • Submit the All Campus Entrance or Returning Application online through myOkanagan.
  • Recipients are selected by Financial Awards.

Value of the Bursary:

  • 15 awards of up to CAD 750 each are awarded to the recipients.
