Swansea University’s College of Engineering, in association with Sêr Cymru, invites applications for a fully-funded PhD studentship. Carbon dioxide is considered as one of the leading causes of climate change. CO2 sequestration (capture and storage) and utilisation (conversion to value added products) are technologies developed and employed to protect the environment from CO2 emissions. Within these technologies, our group has been specialising in developing advanced CO2 capture materials such as cross-linked polymer-based sorbents. Throughout the project, the successful candidate will work at the design, preparation, characterization and application of new materials for CO2 capture for clean energy production. The successful student will particularly concentrate on novel solid sorbent materials with improved CO2 capture capacity, selectivity, regeneration energy efficiency and recyclability. This scholarship is funded by Sêr Cymru. The successful candidate will commence their PhD in January 2016.
The studentship covers the full cost of UK/EU tuition fees, plus a tax free stipend of £14,562 p.a.
