Study Support Grant at University of Southern Queensland
In 2026, UniSQ will offer Study Support Grants to assist commencing or continuing undergraduate students with the costs of university study. Students from low-income households, Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds, and those from rural or remote communities will be given priority. Grants will be available in Trimesters 1, 2, and 3, with students eligible to receive the grant once per calendar year.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Be a domestic student currently residing in Australia who is commencing or continuing their studies at UniSQ in an undergraduate program in the study period of application (e.g., Trimester 1 2026), with continuing students holding a current Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 4.0.
- Be enrolled in a minimum of one study unit in the study period of application.
- Meet at least one of the following criteria: have a low-to-middle annual household income; be from a rural town or remote community within Australia; or identify as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person of Australia.
Selection Criteria:
- The applicant must provide evidence of their personal and/or family’s financial circumstances, which may include a Centrelink Income Support Statement indicating a regular payment, proof of income (Australian Taxation Office Notice of Assessment for the most recent financial year and payslips covering the most recent two months), or Concession, Healthcare, and Medicare card/s. If financially dependent, documentation of family/guardian income must be provided.
- The applicant must, if applicable, provide proof of a permanent address in, or relocation from, a large, medium, or small rural town, or remote/very remote community within Australia (Modified Monash Model – Health Workforce Locator map), and confirmation of identity as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person of Australia.
Application Process: Application must be made via the UniSQ Scholarships Online Application Management System.
Award: A maximum value of $3000 to be paid in one instalment.
Note:
- If an applicant holds other UniSQ awarded scholarships, this may be taken into consideration in selection. Some scholarships cannot be held together.
- There is a limited number of grants available in 2026.
