Eligibility Criteria for Stuart and Geraldine Mitchell Scholarship:

Applicants must:

Be prospective undergraduate students at the University of St Andrews.
Be a Scotland home student.
Have attended one of the eligible Island Schools, with preference for Portree High School.
Demonstrate financial need (means-tested or hardship).

Value of the Stuart and Geraldine Mitchell Scholarship:

£4,400 per year (maintenance), paid in 10 monthly instalments (double payment in February).
Maintenance can be used towards university accommodation.
Paid annually for the full duration of the undergraduate programme.

Application Process:

Applicants must apply through the St Andrews Access Award in the Scholarships and Funding section of the My Application portal.
Applicants must have submitted an application for a new course for the 2026–2027 academic year.
Applicants will receive login details for the portal, which may take at least two working days to process.
