About the scholarship:
Strathclyde Research Studentship Scheme (SRSS) doctoral studentships are available annually for excellent students and excellent research projects. There are two main sources of funding: Central University funding, and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council - Doctoral Training Partnership (EPSRC - DTP) funding. The SRSS 2022/2023 competition will open in Autumn 2021 and students successful in this competition will commence studies in October 2022. Faculties will set their own internal deadlines for the competition.
The SRSS has three distinct allocations
Research Excellence Awards (REAs) for research excellence through defined projects that support the University’s strategic research ambitions. A student does not need to be identified at the time of academic application.
Student Excellence Awards (SEAs); for students with a minimum of a 2.1 undergraduate degree (or equivalent). A student needs to be identified at the time of academic application.
John Anderson Research Awards (JARAs) for students with a minimum of a 1st class undergraduate degree (or equivalent). A student needs to be identified at the time of academic application. This award has a later application deadline and external funding must be part of the academic application.
