Overview

Up to two Palestinian students may receive funds from this fellowship, which is co-funded by STEPS and the University of St Andrews, to pursue a one-year postgraduate program. Registered as a charity in Scotland under the number SCO42518 is STEPS (St Andrews Education for Palestinian Students). It was founded as a separate charity organization in January 2011 to support Palestinian students attending the University of St Andrews.

Eligibility for St Andrews Education for Palestinian Students (STEPS) at the University of St Andrews:

  • The applicant must be a Palestinian national.
  • The applicant must enroll in a postgraduate program at the University of St Andrews.
  • The applicant must not have previously taken a degree course at a university outside the West Bank, Gaza, or Lebanon.
  • The applicant must not have previously completed a postgraduate degree, or be studying for a postgraduate degree at the time of application.
  • The applicant must meet the minimum English language requirements set by the University.
  • The applicant must live in Scotland for one year as a single person and come alone.

Application Process:

  • All eligible candidates must apply online to be considered for the scholarship.
  • The candidate must submit all the supporting documents as requested by the university.

Value of the Scholarship:

The successful candidates can avail of the following benefits:

  • Full tuition fees.
  • Accommodation fees to cover residential university costs.
  • Maintenance stipend of £400 per month.
  • Travel to and from the UK (one ticket for each way).
