The University of Sussex offers tiered support to high-performing athletes via our Sports Scholarships Scheme. The scholarships are available to students who have demonstrated sporting excellence prior to joining Sussex and are committed to developing their sporting performance while here.

Eligibility for the Sports Scholarships Scheme:

  • Be a talented athlete competing at a high level.
  • Be competing in a recognized sport.
  • Show commitment to improving performance and contributing to sport at Sussex.
  • Meet criteria for one of the scholarship tiers:
    • Tier 1: Senior international/national level

Value of the Sports Scholarships Scheme:

Financial support of up to:

  • £750/year (Tier 2)
  • £500/year (Tier 3)
