Open to all nationals.
Applicants must be incoming freshmen.
Applicants must be majoring in the following:

- Physics
- Chemistry
- Mathematics
- Biochemistry
- Environmental science
- Engineering discipline
Preference is given to students with financial need.

Recipients must maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA in one of the aforementioned majors for this award to be renewed for a second year.
