Sir John Monash Scholarships for Distinction at Monash University 2026

The objective of the Sir John Monash Scholarships for Distinction is to support and encourage students with excellent academic merit and outgoing personalities who are enrolled to study at Monash University.

Eligibility for the Sir John Monash Scholarships for Distinction:

• Applicants must be Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens, Australian permanent residents, or Australian humanitarian visa holders.
• Candidates must be current Australian Year 12 or International Baccalaureate students.
• Students should have completed Year 12 in the previous year and have not undertaken any other tertiary study.

Selection criteria:

• For non-Indigenous Australians, awarded to all eligible students who achieve an ATAR of 99.95+ or equivalent.
• For Indigenous Australians, awarded to the top ten eligible students who achieve an ATAR of 85.00+ or equivalent.

Value of the Scholarship:

$8000 per annum (48 credit points of study) up to a maximum of four years. (For scholarships awarded from 2024).

Application:

• No application is required.
• All eligible students who list Monash University as a VTAC course preference will be automatically assessed.
• This scholarship can be deferred.
