Sir John Marshall Scholarship at Victoria University of Wellington

This scholarship was established in 1980 by former New Zealand Prime Minister Sir John Marshall to promote the study of Political Science at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. It has since been extended to include International Relations.

Eligibility Criteria of Sir John Marshall Scholarship:

Applicants must have completed a 100-level POLS or INTP at the time they complete the application.
Applicants must be enrolled in 200-level POLS or INTP courses at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington before the scholarship is paid.

Selection Criteria: 

1. Applicants will be assessed on academic merit.
2. Applicants must intend to major in Political Science or International Relations.

Application Process: A completed online application must be submitted on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. 

Award: NZD 7,000.

Note: 

1. The recipient must be enrolled in a 200-level POLS or INTP course at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington, and the scholarship will be paid as a lump-sum stipend after the course withdrawal cut-off date.
2. The recipient’s name will be inscribed on the Honours Board, and they are required to write a thank-you letter to the donor’s family.
