    Description:

    Applicants must be first-year students majoring in a degree program offered by the School of Accounting and Commercial Law to be eligible for this scholarship. The scholarship is meant to assist future leaders who have decided to pursue a business career and are dedicated to completing their undergraduate studies at Victoria University of Wellington.

    Eligibility for Sir John Anderson Memorial Scholarship:

    • Applicants must be New Zealand citizens, Permanent Residents or hold a residence class visa to remain in New Zealand.
    • Candidates need to have an NCEA Level 2 Certificate with Merit endorsement (or the equivalent in another qualification).
    • Candidates must plan to enroll full-time in Wellington School of Business and Government's Bachelor of Commerce program, beginning in their first year of study.
    • Students majoring in disciplines within the School of Accounting and Commercial Law or related disciplines within the Commerce Faculty will be given preference.
    • Those who plan to enroll in a joint degree program with a subject other than commerce are also welcome to apply.

    Selection criteria:

    • Leadership qualities.
    • Involvement in community, sporting, and cultural activities.
    • Willingness to give back to the community.

    Documents required:

    • A personal statement outlining how they meet the criteria for this scholarship.
    • A CV of the applicant's prior education, employment, and interests.
    • A reference from their school’s head of commerce or another suitable teacher (to be requested via the online application).
    • Must complete the financial information section of the scholarship application form.
