Eligibility for the Sir Edmund Hillary Scholarship:
Applicants must:
- Achieve at least NCEA Level 2 with Merit (or equivalent: CIE/IB, etc.)
- Demonstrate strong achievement in sport (minimum regional level) and/or creative/performing arts
- Show leadership potential
- Be studying NCEA Level 3 (or equivalent) toward University Entrance
- Intend to enrol for the first time in an undergraduate degree at the University of Waikato
- Be willing to participate in ambassadorial activities
- Be eligible for domestic fees status (NZ citizen/resident or eligible Australian resident)
Gap year applicants must:
- Not undertake degree-level study during the gap year
- Achieve Merit at both Level 2 and 3 and University Entrance
- Provide a valid explanation for the gap year.
