Eligibility for the Sir Edmund Hillary Scholarship:

Applicants must:

Achieve at least NCEA Level 2 with Merit (or equivalent: CIE/IB, etc.)
Demonstrate strong achievement in sport (minimum regional level) and/or creative/performing arts
Show leadership potential
Be studying NCEA Level 3 (or equivalent) toward University Entrance
Intend to enrol for the first time in an undergraduate degree at the University of Waikato
Be willing to participate in ambassadorial activities
Be eligible for domestic fees status (NZ citizen/resident or eligible Australian resident)

Gap year applicants must:

Not undertake degree-level study during the gap year
Achieve Merit at both Level 2 and 3 and University Entrance
Provide a valid explanation for the gap year.
