Silvers 50th Endowed Scholarship in Philosophy

The Silvers 50th Endowed Scholarship in Philosophy was established in honour of Professor Anita Silvers, and it supports undergraduate and graduate Philosophy students.

Eligibility criteria for the Silvers 50th Endowed Scholarship in Philosophy:

• Applicants must be majoring in Philosophy at the university.
• Applicants may be entering or continuing students.
• Undergraduate applicants must be enrolled in at least 8 units.
• Graduate applicants must be enrolled in at least 7 units.
• Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.20 
• Applicants must demonstrate self-reported financial need.
• Preference is given to students who have immigrated to the U.S. or have at least one parent who has immigrated to the U.S.
• Eligible students may include U.S. citizens, green card holders, and students with a student or other visa.
• Applicants must submit a statement of up to 500 words describing their financial need.

• Applicants must submit a short statement of up to 500 words describing their financial need and providing supporting evidence, which may include FAFSA information.
• Grant permission for the scholarship selection committee to examine additional materials submitted through Cal State Apply for graduate school, if applicable.
• Applicants must submit the completed scholarship application by May 15, 2026.
• Applicants must remain enrolled for the required number of units during the 2026–2027 academic year to receive the scholarship.
