Second Generation Scholarship Fund

The Second Generation Scholarship Fund was established in June 1987 by the Second Generation Foundation, and it helps to provide support to undergraduate students who demonstrate a commitment to advancing and improving the lives of racial and ethnic minorities.

Eligibility criteria for the Second Generation Scholarship Fund:

• Applicants must be undergraduate students at the university.
• Applicants must be outstanding undergraduate students intending to pursue study at the university.
• Applicants must be enrolled in or have completed a course in Africana Studies.
• Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to the advancement of minorities.
• Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to improving the lives of racial/ethnic minorities through community service, extracurricular activities, or other community involvement.

Application process for the Second Generation Scholarship Fund:

• Applicants must describe their commitment to the advancement of minorities.
• Applicants must list their community service activities and academic honors or accomplishments.
• Applicants must describe strengths they have developed or obstacles they have overcome.
• Applicants must provide the name and email address of a recommender who can provide a recommendation letter.
