Eligibility for the School of Engineering MPhil/PhD Scholarship Scheme:

  • Applicants for a School of Engineering Postgraduate Scholarship must be applying for MPhil/PhD within the School, to begin in October 2026.
  • Applicants must be eligible for home fees. International fees will not be covered.
  • Applicants may apply to study any engineering discipline that is aligned with a School of Engineering academic supervisor.

Documents Required:

  • A cover letter describing their skills and interest related to the Ph.D. project they're applying for
  • Academic CV
  • A statement of your order of preference/interest in the Ph.D. opportunities
  • 2 academic referees

Value of the Scholarship:

  • The full payment of Home (UK) tuition fees (worth approximately £5,130).
  • A tax-free maintenance stipend in line with UKRI rates of approximately £21,300 per annum.
