Eligibility Criteria for School of Classics MLitt Widening Access Scholarship at University of St Andrews 2025:

Applicants must:

• Be applying for or intending to undertake a PhD (Postgraduate Research) in Classics.
• Be a 2025 entrant to the PhD programme.
• Have applied for a place on a Postgraduate Research course at the University of St Andrews (offer not required at time of scholarship application).

Preference may be given to applicants who:

• Identify as members of excluded or under-represented minorities
• Are from groups historically under-represented in Classics (e.g. ethnic minorities, students with disabilities, first-generation university students)
• Are from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds
• Can demonstrate household income below £34,000
• Are from developing economies (as defined by the United Nations)

Value of School of Classics MLitt Widening Access Scholarship at University of St Andrews 2025:

• Full tuition fees (Home or Overseas)
• Up to £19,737 per annum, covering:
  • Maintenance
  • NHS surcharge (if applicable)
  • One return flight per year
  • Visa costs
