Overview

The Minority Development Department of the Government of Maharashtra launched the Scholarship for Minority Students Pursuing Higher and Professional Courses (DMER), Maharashtra 2024/25, to offer financial aid to minority students enrolled in particular health science programs. A scholarship of the full annual course price of INR 50,000, whichever is less, will be awarded to the chosen students.

Eligibility Criteria for Scholarship for Minority Students Pursuing Higher and Professional Courses (DMER), Maharashtra 2024/25:

  • Students need to be domiciled in Maharashtra.
  • Students should belong to minority communities including Muslim, Buddhist, Christian, Jain, Sikh, Parsi, and Jewish.
  • Students must have taken admission to a course through CET/competitive exam or based on marks obtained in Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC).
  • Students should have an annual family income of less than or equal to INR 8,00,000.

Students should have taken admission in one of the following courses:

  • Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
  • Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)
  • Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS)
  • Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS)
  • Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS)
  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPTH)
  • Bachelor in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (BASLP)
  • Bachelor in Prosthetics and Orthotics (BPO)
  • B.Sc. Nursing or M.Sc. Nursing
  • Dual-Degree programs
  • Ophthalmic Assistant
  • Optometry
  • Post Basic B.Sc Nursing
  • Courses affiliated with Maharashtra University of Health Science, Nashik

Application Process:

Students need to submit an application form ONLINE only.

Documents:

  • Aadhaar card
  • Domicile Certificate
  • School leaving Certificate
  • HSC and SSC mark sheets 
  • Father’s PAN card
  • Student’s PAN card (optional)
  • Mother’s PAN card (optional)
  • Income certificate of parents/Form no.16 (Note:- The certificate/affidavit should explicitly mention that the candidate belongs to a minority community)

Benefits:

The total annual course fee of Rs.50,000 whichever amount is less will be the scholarship amount.

Note:

If the targeted scholarship amount for a particular minority community is not met, scholarships for students from other minority communities can be included.
