School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) University of London-Saraswati Dalmia Scholarship, 2024

This scholarship has been established with a donation by her daughter Yashodhara Dalmia, an art historian and an independent curator based in New Delhi. She has written widely on art and her several publications include Amrita Sher-Gil – A Life (Penguin/Viking, 2006), which is a comprehensive account of the life of one of India’s first modern artists.

Eligibility for School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) University of London-Saraswati Dalmia Scholarship, 2024:

• Open to Home/EU and overseas applicants.
• Applicants are expected to have an outstanding academic record, usually a 2:1 or first in their undergraduate degree, and must normally possess or expect to be awarded a Merit or Distinction in their Masters Degree.
• Students must be enrolled in Full-time or part-time MPhil/PhD (new admissions, starting in September 2024).

Eligible Courses:

MA in History of Art & Archaeology or other MA with a significant History of Art component within the School of Arts (excluding MA in East Asian Art and Archaeology)

Selection Criteria:

• Candidates will be assessed on academic merit by a Selection Panel 
• The assessment of your application will be based on the information in your application and in your online application for admission. Selectors will be looking at the degree results and also at academic references, statements, and other relevant information.

The scholarship contributes to fees up to a maximum of GBP 10,355. The scholarship is for one year only.
