The Prize, which is awarded annually in the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, is provided from funds donated by the beneficiaries of the will of Sophia Ruth de la Mare, who was a graduate (MB, 1909) of the University of Sydney.

- The S R de la Mare Memorial Prize 2024 at the University of Auckland will be awarded annually to the woman who is judged to have the best academic record for Phase 2 of the MBChB.
