The Ruthning Memorial Scholarship is a financial award established to support deserving first-year students studying law at The University of Queensland. It was founded in 1960 through a legacy of $4,000 by Miss E. S. D. Ruthning, in memory of her father, H. L. E. Ruthning, a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland.
Eligibility Criteria for Ruthning Memorial Scholarship at The University of Queensland 2025:
- Be a domestic student.
- Have received, in the year of the award, one of the following scholarships:
- TC Beirne School of Law Scholarship, or
- Leadership, Excellence and Diversity (LEAD) Scholarship, or
- UQLA Endowment Fund Scholarship.
- Be enrolled full-time in the first year of an Approved Program (Law).
- Have completed 4 units of LAWS courses in the first semester of the Approved Program.
