The Prize, established in 1969 by the Rotary Club of Auckland, honors the "Most Distinguished Medical Graduate of the Year." Initiated by Dr. Lloyd Richwhite, then President of the Rotary Club, and Professor Cecil Lewis, Dean of the University of Auckland's newly established Medical School, it strengthens the ties between Rotary and the medical profession.

Eligibility Criteria for the Rotary Club of Auckland Prize for the Most Distinguished Medical Graduate of the Year:

Applicants must:

Be enrolled in MBChB Part VI at University of Auckland.
Demonstrate the most distinguished academic performance across Phases 2 and 3 (Years 4, 5, and 6) of the Medical Programme.
Exhibit strong personal qualities and all-round abilities.
Be nominated to the Scholarships Office for consideration.

Value of the Rotary Club of Auckland Prize for the Most Distinguished Medical Graduate of the Year:

The value of the prize will be $5,000.
