Roger Robinson Scholarship for Student Runners at Victoria University of Wellington

The Roger Robinson Scholarship supports student runners at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington, helping them excel both academically and in competitive running (800m or longer). It is open to students enrolling or already enrolled in an undergraduate degree.

Eligibility Criteria of the Roger Robinson Scholarship for Student Runners:

1. Applicants must be New Zealand Citizens or Permanent Residents, enrolled or intending to enrol in full-time undergraduate study at Victoria University of Wellington (part-time study may be considered with prior approval from the Head of School, School of Health).
2. They must be competitive runners in events administered by Athletics New Zealand, and the scholarship is generally not awarded to the same athlete more than once.

Selection Criteria: 

1. Selection is primarily based on the applicant’s competitive record as an athlete.
2. Academic performance and personal circumstances, including financial or other hardships, may also be considered.

Application Process: A completed online application must be submitted on the closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. 

Award: NZD 5,000.

Note: 

1. More than one scholarship will be provided annually if available funds are in excess of the amount required for a single award.
2. Previous recipients are eligible to apply for up to three years.
