Awarded to two full-time, undergraduate students in any year who have completed a course in Religious Studies or intend to do so within the forthcoming year; also based on financial need.

Eligibility for Reverend Canon Alvin J. Thomson and Mrs. Violet Thomson Memorial Bursary:

Two full-time undergraduate students in any year of study
Must have completed a course in Religious Studies or intend to complete one within the forthcoming academic year or,
Two full-time undergraduate students enrolled in Social Work or Gerontology
Demonstrated financial need
Preference given to students who:
- Graduated from a City of Thunder Bay high school
- Are active in a local church or intend to pursue a career in Church Ministry
Applicants must provide a letter from a minister or priest confirming their interest in or calling to ministry
