Regional Leaders Scholarship at University of Southern Queensland
The Regional Leaders Scholarship, supported by the annual returns of an endowment fund built by donors since the early 2000s, will support one student commencing their first year of a bachelor’s degree at the University of Southern Queensland in 2026, aiming to provide strong support for promising regional leaders.
Eligibility Criteria:
- The applicant should be a domestic student currently residing in Australia and from a regional, rural, or remote area.
- The applicant should have completed Year 12 in 2024 or 2025 and be a new student.
- The applicant should be intending to enrol full-time in a bachelor’s degree program at UniSQ in Trimester 1 2026 and reside at one of the UniSQ Residential Colleges, Toowoomba campus.
- The applicant should be intending to enrol in on-campus mode (unless the program/study units are not offered on-campus).
Selection Criteria:
- Address each personal statement question (max 250 words each): experiences or influences driving your passion, career goals/impact, prior leadership experiences and their influence on future aspirations, and reasons for choosing residential college including how you will contribute to college life.
- Provide evidence of a permanent residential address in, or relocation from, a regional, rural, or remote area (MM2–MM7) within Australia according to the Modified Monash Model 2023.
- Provide evidence of academic achievement and prior leadership roles as directed in the application process (e.g., high school report card or post-secondary transcript, and supporting evidence for leadership claims).
Application Process: Application must be made via the UniSQ Scholarships Online Application Management System.
Award: a maximum value of AUD 30,000 to be paid over three years as a contribution to UniSQ Residential College fees.
Deadline: Monday 19 January 2026 at 11:59pm (AEST).
Note: If an applicant holds other UniSQ awarded scholarships, this may be taken into consideration in selection. There are some scholarships that cannot be held together.
