The Rangel Graduate Fellowship Program is designed to cultivate and prepare exceptional young individuals for careers within the Foreign Service of the U.S. Department of State, where they will contribute to the formulation, representation, and execution of U.S. foreign policy. The selected fellows are then supported throughout their two-year graduate academic journey, including internships, mentorship, and professional development activities.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be seeking admission to enter graduate school in the fall of 2025 for a two-year program at a U.S. university in an area of relevance to the Foreign Service. They can be in the senior year of their undergraduate studies, graduating by June 2025, or they can be college graduates.
- Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher on a 4.0 scale at the time of application.
- Applicants must be U.S. citizens.
Application Process:
- All eligible candidates must first complete and submit the registration form.
- The candidates must upload all the documents mentioned in the panel.
Value of the Award:
- Successful recipients can avail of the following benefits:
- USD 24,000 per year for tuition and mandatory fees,
- USD 18,000 as an academic year stipend,
- Two summer internships at Capital Hill and Overseas in U.S. Embassies,
- Mentoring from a Foreign Service Officer throughout the duration.
Note: Candidates who complete the program will receive appointments in the State Department of Foreign Service under applicable law and State Department policy.
