Eligibility Criteria for the PhD Studentships by Fight For Sight 2025:
- The applications for PhD Studentships should be made by Ph.D. supervisors.
- The supervisors must be affiliated with academic or medical institutions in the UK.
- Lead supervisors must have a PhD or MD and have a tenured post or demonstrate that they will have a salary for the lifetime of the grant.
- The research must take place within the UK, but with the right justification, the candidates can travel abroad for a short time.
- Applicants must check if the proposed research studentship is more suitable for the UKVRN Doctoral Training Programme.

- Applications must be made by Ph.D supervisors.
- Applications must be submitted via the Fight for Sight / Vision Foundation’s Grant Tracker system.
- Applications must be approved by two authorised signatories of the host institution (Head of Department and Finance Office).

The ophthalmic and vision research must be conducted within the UK. However, with appropriate justification, a small amount of time can be spent outside the UK to travel to collaborators and learn the techniques necessary for the project.
