The Cardiff School of Music is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity to pursue full-time doctoral research at the School of Music, Cardiff University. Applications are invited from outstanding applicants of a high calibre. We welcome applications from candidates wishing to develop projects on the topics of (but not limited to):
- Opera and Drama (please see CIRO website for more information)
- Performance-Practice
- 20th/21st century music
Eligibility:
- Residency: Full awards (fees plus stipend) are open to UK Nationals and EU students without further restrictions.
- Academic criteria: We are seeking confident, innovative postgraduates with a strong record of achievement. Eligible applicants should have, or expect to achieve, either a Masters degree with distinction or merit from a UK university or an equivalent qualification from outside the UK, or have suitable professional experience.
Studentship value: This studentship consists of full UK/EU tuition fees, as well as a Doctoral Stipend of £6,000 per annum. Additional funding of the value of £ 1,200 over the length of the candidature is available as an allowance to help support with attending conferences, obtaining research materials, recording performances of music, or conducting relevant research away from Cardiff.
