Peace/Williston Aquatic Research Award at University of Northern British Columbia 2026

The Peace/Williston Aquatic Research Award supports full-time graduate students at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) conducting aquatic research focused on fish and fish habitat within the Williston Reservoir Watershed.

Eligibility Criteria for the Peace/Williston Aquatic Research Award at University of Northern British Columbia 2026:

• Applicants must be full-time graduate students enrolled in Natural Resources and Environmental Studies.
• Applicants must be undertaking an aquatic research program.
• Applicants must maintain satisfactory academic standing.
• Proposed research must contribute to understanding fish and their habitat within the Williston Reservoir Watershed.
• Research should generally focus on the protection, restoration, or enhancement of fish and fish habitat.

Application Process for the Peace/Williston Aquatic Research Award at University of Northern British Columbia 2026:

• Apply online through the UNBC Awards Application.
• Submit a research project proposal to awards@unbc.ca.
• The proposal should align with the Peace/Williston Fish and Wildlife Compensation Program's strategic plans.
• Selection considers the research's potential contribution to fish and fish-habitat knowledge and requires PWFWCP approval.
• Additional documentation is required in the form of the research project proposal.
• Final selection requires recommendations from relevant faculty, Chair and Dean endorsement, PWFWCP approval, and approval by the Senate Committee on Scholarships and Bursaries.
