Paula and Tony Kinnane Music Scholarship, 2022 was established in 2016 and is maintained by the income of a perpetual endowment fund from a bequest to The University of Queensland under the will of Paula Ruth Kinnane, who graduated from The University of Queensland in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. The Scholarship is to support students enrolling in the Bachelor of Music (Honours) program. The Senate may award two Scholarships in a year on the recommendation of the Head. The value of the Scholarship is AUD 10,000.

Eligibility criteria for the Paula and Tony Kinnane Music Scholarship, 2022:

An applicant is eligible for the scholarship, if the applicant:

  • Applicants must submit an application to audition for the Bachelor of Music (Honours) program to the Head, by the closing date for applications; and
  • Applicants must be enrolled full-time in the first year of the program.

Selection criteria:

Paula and Tony Kinnane Music Scholarship 2022 is awarded to the applicants showing greatest merit as demonstrated by audition. In ranking applicants, the Head of School will give preference to applicants from a rural or remote region of Queensland or the Northern Territory.

Value of the Paula and Tony Kinnane Music Scholarship, 2022:

Successful applicants will receive an award of $10,000 per year (up to four years).
